Ballet

The Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre, under the direction of Molly Buchmann and Sharon Mathews, is a non-profit organization chartered in 1960 to promote and assist the advancement of classical and contemporary dance by maintaining a performing company, presenting a high quality season, providing dance education, and community outreach.

Dance Theatre of Harlem
The Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre will host Dance Theatre of Harlem on Tuesday, October 28, 2014, at 7:30 pm at the River Center Theatre for the Performing Arts.

Now celebrating its 45th year, this multi-cultural dance institution has achieved unprecedented success, bringing innovative and bold new forms of artistic expression to audiences around the world. Under the artistic direction of Virginia Johnson, the internationally acclaimed Dance Theatre of Harlem will inhabit our stage with an eclectic program comprised of DTH classics and cutting-edge new works that bring unprecedented relevance to classical ballet. The highly acclaimed group returns to Baton Rouge after a sold-out appearance in 2001.
