Event Guideline FAQS The Baton Rouge River Center will work closely with Lessee during the entire event process. The following list is true for most events that occur in the Arena, Ballroom, Theatre, and Convention Center.
Event Diagram:
- The Baton Rouge River Center requires the submittal of event layouts at least six weeks before the first event. These layouts must meet the requirements of the Baton Rouge Fire Marshall.
Fire Marshall:
- Fire Marshall regulations and the Life Safety Code is as follows: The Baton Rouge Fire Department Inspectors Office will regulate the occupancy levels of all facilities based on the Federal Life Safety Codes as well as approved floor plans and issue pyrotechnic permits.
Electrical:
- All electrical and telecommunication wires must be taped or matted when crossing walkways.
- The Baton Rouge River Center does not supply electrical extension cords or tape.
Smoking:
- Smoking is not allowed in the facility by lessee, its employees, or attendees of lessee's event. Designated smoking areas must be used.
Prohibited in the Baton Rouge River Center:
- Tape is not allowed to be placed on any walls
- Alcoholic beverages may not be consumed by working crews.
- Strollers are not allowed for any event. No Exceptions.
- Helium balloons are not allowed for any event. No Exceptions.
- The use of open flames is not permitted for any event. No Exceptions.
- All cooking equipment is subject to Fire Marshall approval.
Decorating Policy:
- All decoration descriptions and samples must be forwarded and approved in advance of event.
- All banners must be approved prior to hanging. Decorating schedule should be included in the move-in time schedule.
Merchandising Policy:
- The facility reserves the right to all merchandise or collections on the premises. The intent to sell needs to be established 2 weeks prior to arrival and approved by the Baton Rouge River Center Finance Director.
Damages:
- The Client is responsible for all damages to the Baton Rouge River Center that are created by the client, decorations, or patrons.
